Greenstick Boy
“Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn’t’ve fallen in love with?”
Against a backdrop of Punk Rock, Irish Dancing, Irish Mammies and Dagenham (?!) Greenstick Boy is a bittersweet story of London – Irish teenagers M and her best friend D. He’s kind, clever, loving (in his own way) and he happens to be a heroin addict. A right pain in the arse. And her soul mate.
Since its premiere at The Assembly Rooms for the Fringe Festival, Edinburgh, Greenstick Boy has been performed by Maggie across Ireland and the UK. In 2013, it was selected to be performed at the world renowned Bozar Theatre in Brussels as part of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Brussels Platform.
